Report 2.1 has been launched!

23.11.2007

During the summer, we launched the report version 2.0, which brought with it many improvements (click here for main highlights).

Now with version 2.1 we are bringing some additional tools which will be particularly useful for website development. We also listened to your feedback and made some requested changes to complement the previous ones. Below, please read further about all the newest additions as well as some of the most significant changes made in the past few months.

Goals

Many sites have a particular page (or several), where it is desired that as many visitors as possible go. These often include order confirmation pages, confirmation pages for contact requests and confirmation pages for calls for tenders.

  • By defining certain pages as goals, these pages will receive their own header in the main report, making their figures easier to keep track of
  • There is no longer need to browse through oodles of pages to find the most important ones!

In-site Search Engines

If a site has its' own, internal Search or Find function, you can now commence to track  what is being sought after and whether the searches suggest the most appropriate pages as results.
  • Flaws or malfunctions of the In-site search engine can become apparent and its precision can be improved
  • The website development can benefit from knowing which pages aren't getting enough exposure and people aren't finding them

PDF-versions of the report

The report is now available in PDF-format by clicking the PDF-icon from the report's top bar. The PDF-report comes as a relief to the following problems

  • Issues with printing. Different browsers have been known to print the report with various success. Now all prints are complete and error-free by openeing the report as a PDF-document prior to printing
  • Archiving and forwarding troubles

Furthermore, the format is also available for e-mail reporting, in addition to the familiar HTML-mails. PDF files should pass junk mail filters more easily and its content won't go gibberish on some e-mail programmes.

Technical report

The technical report comes to warm the hearts of all geeks and technical minded by providing information on the visitor's technical solutions. The Technical report visually presents data about

  • the browser and its version
  • the operating system, its version and language
  • the used screen resolution
  • available Java and/or Flash support

Visitors sorted by the Hour

Every entry method comes now with an hour-by-hour chart of the fluctuations in visitor numbers. This information is particularly useful in choices pertaining to online banners

  • Which hours are the best or most trafficated for displaying a banner?
  • At which times do the masses or the quality visitors made their visit?

The Hours can be found front each entry method's sub pages as well as from the main report's time sorting, Hour / Day / Week / Month. Unfortunately all times are GMT +2 (Finnish time) for the time being, but we are working on bringing moe options out for the next version!

Artificially adding parametres to the URL-address

Because website tracking defines a page based on its URL-address, it can be necessary to create extra parametres to tell several pages apart within the report. The &addurl= parameter addition comes to the rescue when several different pages share the same address.
